Brand Identity Manager
Brand identity design is concerned with the visual aspects of a company or organization’s brand or identity. A brand identity design is the visual element that represents how a company wants to be seen; it is the company’s visual identity, and is how a company illustrates its ‘image.’ A company’s brand identity can be represented in terms of design through a unique logo, or signage, and is then often integrated throughout all the elements of a company’s materials such as business cards, stationery, packaging, media advertising, promotions, and more. Brand identity may include logo design. Brand identity development is usually a collaborative effort between creative directors, art directors, copywriters, account managers and the client.
Theme developers will take the brand identity and convert it into a website layout, often in Photoshop first, and then convert it into HTML/CSS/PHP for use in WordPress or Joomla. Designers work primarily on the look and style of the website elements, e.g. buttons, general layouts, typography choice, etc. Coders will take a Photoshop layout and convert it into the necessary HTML/CSS/PHP, compliant with WordPress or Joomla. Developers can do both the design and the coding aspect of theme development.
If you can develop or code a theme, we’d like you to try converting this test Photoshop layout into HTML5/CSS3 using your favorite framework. We will be looking at CSS class reuse, use of HTML semantic tags, advanced CSS techniques, etc. Knowledge of Jquery, if it can aid in keeping the code clean, is a plus!
The kind of web designer we’re looking for is one who can create site layouts based on brand manager’s creative assets. Having experience with WordPress and/or Joomla is crucial, including installing and integrating plugins/modules and integrating the themes to work with them.
